All In Good Time

Last year, I was worried about having to turn away women who might call when Posie was too little for me to attend births. I said that I wanted to start attending births again when she was 3-4 months old. The first birth I attended, she was 4 months old. Then I only got one more call, and attended that birth (the twins) when she was 6 months old. All of a sudden I've started getting calls again. I said I wanted to attend births at about 2 a month once Posie was a year old. I now have:
1 in January
2 in February
2 in March
1 in April
none in May, except a doula client due in June has preemie babies...
2 in June
1 in July (had another consult for July recently)
1 in August

And I have had more calls expressing interest that haven't progressed into consults. But wow! I need 11 more births signed off before I can take the NARM. If FaeryLady makes it to all these births, AND no one transports (cross your fingers for me y'all!) I may just be able to finish by the end of next year!

11 more births? That's great! I hope they all go well and you get to sit for the NARM soon!

I return to doula work this month. My newest will be four months old on Monday. How was it leaving Posie so soon? I'm terrified of attending a long labor so soon.

Holly, I didn't leave Posie. I brought her and SuperDoula to the birth with me when she was 4 months old and SuperDoula wet nursed her for me. The next birth, Posie was 6 months old, and my hubby brought her to me several times to nurse. I didn't leave, leave her for a birth until this month (she's almost 10 months old)
