The tale of a fledgling midwife as she learns to fly. A bit of personal life, a bit of birth stories, a bit of everything, mostly.

Arrrgh, Matey!
Here be me little poppet, all dressed up for Talk Like A Pirate day. Arrgh! So, buckle yer swashes and swab the poop, and ye best be askin' for parlay unless ye be wantin' to be a rum swillin' miscreant what takes orders from a pirate!
Cute outfit. Where did you find out about talk like a pirate day? It was somehow integrated into my physical assessment lab class and I thought that my instructor had just made it up to annoy us. Lol.
I'm an early forties (advanced maternal age) mother of eight (grand multipara) who has had babies every way you can have them. Three in the hospital with docs and drugs; fourth baby at home with a lay midwife; fifth baby a c-section; sixth an HBAC waterbirth that my hubby caught, seventh an unattended home waterbirth and the eighth an emergency c-section. I'm a self-proclaimed birth junkie. I love movies and music, and I'm addicted to having babies and helping others have them too.
