This Calls for a Celebration!

On Saturday, PreacherMan had his LAST CLASS that he had to attend at the school campus.

He has been in school since our marriage. First, I worked and he went to a technical college for his Associates Degree in Non-destructive Testing. He then got a job in that field and went to night school for a couple years. He then transferred jobs as a Quality Engineer and started attending a University half time. He graduated with a BS in Physics when Violet was 2 months old. He knew at that time that he was called to the ministry, but, like Jonah, he ran from his call for a while. We call those the "belly of the whale" years. LOL.

When we moved to our current location, we were unsure how seminary would work. We didn't know how we would pay for it, and we weren't sure if there was a seminary that was close enough to our doctrine for him to want to attend.

It turns out the church we chose as our church home is a denomination that has their own seminary. AND, if you are a member in good standing of the denomination, you get a full ride scholarship. Surely, this was what was meant to be.

So, he started there, taking night classes and weekend classes 8 years ago. It has been a loooooooong haul. He gets up at 4:30 AM every day to study and do homework. Many Saturdays, he's had a 9 to 5 class and been gone. As he got to his Junior year, he had to attend a certain number of credit hours on campus. So he's had Tuesday or Thursday night classes for several years (plus 1.5 hours driving time each way) and has returned home at 10:30 or 11:00 PM on those nights.

Well, Saturday was the LAST ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are taking the kids all out to dinner to celebrate tonight. This is a huge moment for us. And when he graduates in May with his M.Div., this baby will be 2 months old. Life really is a circle.
