It is so neat to feel the growth of my uterus, day by day, week by week. To feel the waistband of my shorts starting to be tight, to be aware of my uterus inside my abdominal cavity....
But oh, the temptation to get out that doppler and just take a little listen! What would be the harm... I wouldn't do it for long (only till I found a heartbeat....)
Then this article came along about the further proof of the possible risks of ultrasound exposure and I sigh and resign myself to wait. But every so often... my brain starts to itch to grab the gel and the doppler instead of being patient. Really helps me to understand why docs and some midwives who have access to technology just can simply not resist using it.
I am not trying to justify a huge expense or pay for the thing. I have it, so I want to use it! I wonder how often baby Suri Cruise was ultrasounded (if she even exists, but that is a whole 'nother matter entirely!). Perhaps that little baby was exposed to ultrasound every day and maybe she'll end up as nutty as her father!
